Moscow Chemical Storage Evacuated After ‘Blast’ Reported, White Smoke Seen

Russian authorities are evacuating a battery storage facility and close by buildings within the Moscow area after a reported blast.

A fireplace broke out on Thursday in a workshop for the manufacturing of oxygen batteries within the city of Voskresensk within the Moscow area, Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Conditions was quoted as saying by state-run information company Tass.

Tass added that the world of the fireplace has grown to 400 sq. meters (480 sq. yards), the manufacturing facility’s roof has collapsed and there aren’t any reported casualties. A firefighting practice, 86 folks, and 24 items of apparatus are concerned in battling the blaze.

Earlier, the ministry reported {that a} workshop for the manufacturing of oxygen batteries was on fireplace and that the world of the blaze was at 200 sq. meters.

The reason for the fireplace stays unclear. Images and movies revealed on social media present plumes of white smoke rising into the air. Footage posted by Russian Telegram channel Baza confirmed a thick cloud of milky smoke rising into the sky from behind treetops.
